International Educational Gateway Private Limited (“Univariety”) · Version 2.0 · Effective [8 Oct 2026]

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and International Educational Gateway Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 with its registered office at H. No. 8-2-624, Suite 301, Sri Durga Towers, Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana 500034, India (“Univariety”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of univariety.com, the Univariety alumni and student engagement platform, its subdomains and mobile applications (together, the “Platform”).

This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and does not require a physical or digital signature. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed and forms part of these Terms; where the two differ on a data-protection matter, the Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) prevail.

1. Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms by ticking the acceptance box when you create an account or, for the public website, by using it. Acceptance of these Terms is not consent to the processing of your personal data; that consent is given separately, purpose by purpose, as described in section 5 and in the Privacy Policy.

2. Who may use the Platform

• Alumni and student accounts on college and university platforms are open to persons aged 18 or over who are current or former students of an Institute that uses the Platform.
• On school platforms, students under 18 may be given access by their school only after the school has obtained verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, who also accepts these Terms on the student’s behalf. Parents given parent access are bound by these Terms.
• Institute representatives use the Platform under the agreement between their Institute and Univariety, which prevails over these Terms in case of conflict.

3. Your account

• You may sign in with an email address and password, a one-time code, or a supported identity provider (for example Google or LinkedIn). Keep your credentials confidential and do not share your account.
• You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us at care@univariety.com that it has been compromised.
• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend an account created with false information or that impersonates another person.

4. Your Institute and Univariety

The Platform is licensed to your Institute, which decides which features are enabled for its alumni and students and for what purposes. Under the DPDP Act your Institute is the Data Fiduciary for your record and Univariety is its Data Processor, except for the enrichment and engagement-indicator activities for which Univariety is itself a Data Fiduciary, as set out in section 1 of the Privacy Policy. Univariety acts on the Institute’s written instructions and under a written contract with it. Information you give your Institute directly, outside the Platform, is governed by the Institute’s own policies.

5. Your personal data and consent

• Before any personal data is processed for a purpose that needs your consent, you will be shown a notice describing the data and the purpose, and asked to agree by a clear affirmative action. Consent is never implied from browsing or using the Platform.
• You can switch each purpose on or off and withdraw consent entirely, as easily as you gave it, from your privacy settings or by email. Withdrawing consent for a purpose may mean that feature no longer works for you; it does not affect your right to use the rest of the Platform.
• You can see, download, correct and erase your data, nominate a person to act for you, and raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer and, if unresolved, the Data Protection Board of India. The Privacy Policy explains how.
• If your Institute asks Univariety to reconnect with alumni, a preliminary record may be created from Institute records and public or licensed sources only to send you a notice; it is not shown to the Institute and no other outreach takes place until you choose to activate it.

6. What you agree to do and not do

You agree to use the Platform lawfully and in keeping with its purpose of connecting an Institute with its students and alumni. In particular you agree not to:

• impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation with an Institute, or suppress material information when providing identity details;
• collect, scrape, download in bulk or compile data about other users, whether manually or by automated means, or use the Platform to build a database or contact list;
• use another user’s data for any purpose other than the Platform interaction it was shared for, including for marketing, recruitment outside the Platform, or resale;
• upload unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing or misleading content, or content that reveals another person’s personal data without their consent;
• introduce malware, probe or interfere with the Platform’s security, or access accounts or data you are not authorised to access;
• register false or frivolous grievances or complaints with Univariety or the Data Protection Board of India, or provide information that is not verifiably authentic when requesting correction or erasure (section 15, DPDP Act).

7. Content you provide

• You keep ownership of the profile information, messages, photographs, videos and other content you provide. You grant Univariety and your Institute a licence to host, display and use it on the Platform for the purposes you have consented to, for as long as it remains on the Platform.
• Use of your name, image, story or testimonial in an Institute’s marketing, whether printed, displayed on campus or online, requires a separate specific consent from you for that use and is never implied by these Terms or by any other consent.
• You are responsible for content you provide about other people. Provide it only where you are entitled to and where the other person is aware.
• We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the law.

8. Intellectual property and third-party marks

• The Platform, its software, design, documentation and the Univariety name and logo belong to Univariety or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you. You may view and use Platform content for personal, non-commercial purposes connected with your Institute.
• Employer and institution logos shown alongside profiles are the trademarks of their owners and are displayed solely to identify the organisation concerned. Their display does not imply any endorsement of, or affiliation with, Univariety or the Institute. A rights holder who wishes a logo to be removed may write to care@univariety.com and we will act promptly.
• Third-party product and service names on the Platform belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

9. Availability, changes to the service and disclaimers

• We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be notified where practicable.
• Guidance, mentorship, career and admission content on the Platform is provided for information and by alumni and Institute staff in their personal capacity; it is not professional, financial or legal advice, and decisions you take on the basis of it are your own.
• Links to third-party websites and services are provided for convenience; their content and policies are their own.
• Except as stated in these Terms, the Privacy Policy or a non-excludable law, the Platform is provided as is, without warranty as to accuracy of third-party content or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Liability

• Nothing in these Terms limits Univariety’s obligations under the DPDP Act, the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any other law that cannot be excluded, or limits liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
• Subject to that, Univariety is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, business or goodwill, or for loss arising from matters outside its reasonable control, including failures of internet or telecommunications services, acts of third parties not acting on Univariety’s behalf, and events of force majeure.
• Univariety is not responsible for the acts or omissions of your Institute in relation to information you give the Institute outside the Platform, or for actions the Institute takes on data it controls as Data Fiduciary, except where Univariety has acted contrary to the Institute’s lawful instructions.
• You agree to compensate Univariety for loss it suffers because of your breach of section 6 or your unlawful use of the Platform.

11. Suspension, termination and deletion

• You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing care@univariety.com. Closing your account is treated as withdrawal of consent, and your data is erased within the period stated in the Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, after notice where practicable, and will erase its data in the same way.
• If your Institute ends its agreement with Univariety, personal data held for that Institute is deleted within 3 business days of termination; the Institute may retain a minimal alumni register as its own record.
• Sections 6 to 8, 10 and 13 continue to apply after your account is closed.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Each version carries an effective date. For material changes we will notify you on the Platform or by email at least [30] days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may close your account before that date. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the updated Terms; it is never consent to any new processing of personal data, which is always sought separately.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to your right to approach the Data Protection Board of India or any consumer forum available to you by law. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remains in force. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Univariety about the Platform, subject to any agreement between Univariety and your Institute.
